Whether it's been a day, a year, or most of a lifetime, the pain and agony of grief is real. Come join a group of others who understand your pain. Work together through the grief share curriculum to make steps toward healing.

Book Group

Meeting Thursdays from 4:00pm - 5:30pm in the St. Cyr community room. We are discussing "Grace" by Max Lucado. New members are welcome!

Game time

Come together for board games and a snack every Thursday from 1:30pm-3:30pm.  Take some bread home when you leave!

Clothing Closet

The clothing closet will be open on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 7:30am - 1pm. Come and browse our selection of free clothing for children, teens, and adults. Everything is free.

We'll be open November 15th, and December 20th

Our 2nd location is open on the 1st Thursday of the month-same time, at South Portland Church of the Nazarene. December 6th, January 3rd, and February 7th

Free Bread

Bread is available every Thursday from 1:30-3:30pm at Life Essentials (Landry Village) as well as 4pm - 5:30pm at St. Cyr Court. 

Computer Room

The computer room will be open by appointment. Please contact Cheryl to arrange a time. Computers may be used for job searching, resume writing, elder-care information, medicare, research, and homework. We have a printer, too! 

Food Cupboard

The food pantry is open monthly to South Portland residents. We are well stocked and supported thanks to generous donations by members of South Portland Church of the Nazarene and our neighbors in Landry Village and Adam Court. If you know of someone who is struggling to put food on the table, please send them our way.

The pantry will be open again December 13th 1:30-3:30.


The Life Essentials Academic Program, or LEAP, is a place where immigrant children can come and practice their reading and writing skills in a safe and fun environment. LEAP students are recommended to us through their teacher. We are currently working with Skillin school in South Portland.
